Christmas shopping near Capesthorne Hall

If you’re making a weekend of your Lapland UK Manchester visit, there are good options for Christmas shopping within half an hour — from one of the UK’s biggest shopping centres to independent high streets and festive markets.

The Trafford Centre

The Trafford Centre is around 35 minutes’ drive from Capesthorne Hall, with hundreds of shops and restaurants under one roof. LEGOLAND Discovery Centre and SEA LIFE Manchester are right next door — ideal for a rainy day.

Knutsford

Around 20 minutes away, Knutsford’s King Street is lined with independent shops and cafés such as Neki Café and The Courtyard Café. The town’s large two-day Christmas Market takes place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December 2026, according to Knutsford Town Council.

Macclesfield

Macclesfield town centre is around 15 minutes from Capesthorne Hall. Its free Step Into Christmas event on Market Place is on Saturday 28 November 2026. Stop for lunch at the Picturedrome food hall.
