Planning Your Lapland UK Manchester Trip
Lapland UK Manchester is based at Capesthorne Hall, Macclesfield — about 16 miles south of Manchester city centre. According to Lapland UK, your visit lasts around four and a half hours, so most families make a full day or weekend of it. Here’s what we’d recommend:
🌙 The Night Before
Stay somewhere close to Capesthorne Hall the night before. Alderley Edge, Macclesfield and Wilmslow are all within about 20 minutes’ drive. Get an early night — children tend to be very excited! Prefer your own space? Try one of our holiday lets and short stays.
⭐ On The Day
Arrive 45 minutes before your tour time — Lapland UK asks Manchester visitors to allow this for check-in. Wear warm layers and sensible shoes: you’re protected from wind and rain, but it can still get chilly. Jingles, Lapland’s own currency (1 Jingle = £1), can be pre-ordered in your MyLapland account or bought on the day.
🍽️ After Your Visit
The kids will be buzzing — make the most of it. Head into Macclesfield or Knutsford for a celebratory meal — both have family-friendly restaurants and cafés. Check our Eat & Drink guide for our top picks.
What’s included in a ticket
According to Lapland UK, a standard ticket includes entry to more than four and a half hours of performances and activities, an invitation parcel posted to you before your visit, a husky soft toy for every child when they meet Father Christmas, a toy made in the elves’ toy factory to take home for Christmas Day, one souvenir photo per booking and free parking.
