Macclesfield Forest is a large area of woodland and reservoirs on the western edge of the Peak District, around 30 minutes’ drive from Lapland UK Manchester at Capesthorne Hall.
The Trentabank car park and visitor area is the usual starting point for family-friendly forest walks around the reservoirs — a peaceful, festive-feeling setting of tall conifers in winter.
Car park postcode: SK11 0NS. Lanes into the forest are narrow and hilly, so allow extra time in poor weather.
