Tegg’s Nose is a country park on the hills just east of Macclesfield, run by Cheshire East Council’s ranger service and around 25 minutes’ drive from Lapland UK Manchester at Capesthorne Hall.
A former quarry, it offers big views over Macclesfield and the Cheshire Plain, with a visitor centre, toilets, picnic tables and a pay-and-display car park off Buxton Old Road. There are walks for all abilities, from short strolls to the viewpoint to longer hill routes.
It’s exposed on the hilltop, so wrap up warm in winter.
